On Thursday, June 3rd, I went to my weekly doctor's appt. and had an ultrasound done to see if the baby was still breach and to check to see if her cord was wrapped around her neck. The ultrasound showed that she was still breach but the tech couldn't tell if the cord was around her neck. Since she was still breach i had to schedule a c-section for Monday the 7th. Later, thursday night, my water broke while i was in the kitchen. We called up some friends to take the kids over night and then we headed to the hospital. I was so scared because i had never had my water break on my own before. I was also scared to have a c-section, which i have never had either. My doctor was out of town, so i was seen by the on-call doctor. He told me that he really wanted to try to turn the baby, because every time he had done it in the past, he was successful. Landon thought that it was a great idea, so i wouldn't have to have a c-section. I didn't like the idea. I knew that there was a reason why she wasn't turning and i didn't want to risk hurting her. So i told them that i was going to do the c-section.

Addilyn Mae Burrup was born June 3rd at 10:01 pm. She was 7 lbs. 3oz. and 19in. Addi came out with her cord wrapped around her neck. I am so glad that i went with my feeling and had a c-section. Who knows what could happened to her if i hadn't. We are soooo blessed!

Congratulations, she is truly beautiful. I hope you are recovering well. I have all my babies c-section, and the only advice I can give is to rest and remember that you've just had surgery AND a baby, its to easy to just jump up and go.

Wow, I wanted to say congrats again! I am so glad that baby Addi is safe and everything went well. I had a C-section with Clara and am sad that I have to have them from here on out. V-bacs are risky according to my doctor so she cant do one. Anyway, I had the worst recovery ever from my c-section, so I am really hoping you have a GOOD one! I will keep you and your family in my prayers. You guys are all so stinkin cute :) Wish we lived closer together...
